Gidget’s Best of 2013

As the year draws to a close I reflect on the year of the 13.
Not the best year by any means..
BUT….
We had some amazing highlights to share.
I saw some amazing concerts. Fitz and the Tantrums at the Metro in Chicago.. Next time they will be too big and the Metro will be too small. Seriously theme song on Ellen Degeneres “Oscar” commercial..
I also saw a smaller band play just over twenty mins that blew my mind this year. Dan Vapid and the Cheats opening for the Queers and the Dwarves at Reggie’s in Chicago.
In June I bought Woody Radio with Amanda.
We added new DJ’s Kelly and her husband Jason. (DJ Kellbell and DJ Strikerdead)
The “Secret Weapon” is now on all seven days.
And with the new year about to start we have added podcasts to the Woody Radio family. “Big Wheel Rodeo” with Joey Camp.
I predict 2014 will be a stellar year for Woody Radio!
Now on to my best of 2013 list.

Stephan Colbert doing Get lucky when Daft punk Canceled doing his show.. Worth it alone for Jeff Bridges’ ass! Cameos by Bryan Cranston Hugh Laurie, Jimmy Fallon, Matt Damon, and more!
Gets pulled off youtube a lot.. but sooooo worth the watch. plus ROLLERSKATING!!!!

Best Movie:
“Kings of Summer”

Best cover song:
“Get Lucky”(Daft Punk) By George Barnett.. This kid (19 years old) was on my top list with his own stuff last year.. Yes this is all one hundred percent just him.. Better than the real song!

Best concert..
A tricky one.. For the last month it’s been Fitz at the Metro in June. Then on the 27th of December we went to see Foxy Shazam T Mojoes in Joliet..

Then the next night we saw Foxy again at the Intersection in Grand Rapids..
Even Eric (the singer) said this on stage … Playing for that audience was like playing for his high school.. He felt a real repoire with the audience.. And we all saw it!
