Third time’s the charm, or so they say! This show featured a wide variety of music, everything from R. Stevie Moore & Jason Falkner, to Marilyn Monroe, and back again. Wait–Marilyn Monroe? Well, in honor of our own DJ Mac, whose birthday was today (and he was listening), we played Marilyn’s version of “Happy Birthday Mr. President”, which she sang to another guy from Massachusetts! It was like a mini, 30 second audio bachelor party, early 60’s style. We also dipped into my carefully curated collection of late 1980s-early 1990’s alternative rock. Some of my favorite music came from that era and that genre. But don’t worry–we showed lots of love to the indie artists of today, who are recording some of the finest music out there!
The chat room was on fire again, lots of great, lively conversation from all over the country. It’s really fun when a bunch of friends can get together and listen to music and shoot the breeze. We talked about everything from crazy jury duty stories to the Beatles 1964 Hollywood Bowl concert. Yes, one of my listeners actually attended that legendary show! Me, I just attended jury duty in 2009.
