When nobody was looking, I secretly grabbed the Woody Radio airwaves on Christmas Eve morning, at 9:00 a.m. sharp, and used them for my own secret, nefarious purposes. What purposes would those be? Well, to play four hours of some really great music. I’m especially proud that Woody Radio is so diverse and freeform (fancy term for them not paying attention to what I’m actually playing!), that I was able to play the Grateful Dead, the Fifth Dimension, and the Jayhawks, all in the same show! Plus, I played dozens of the indie tunes that make my world go round. We heard hard rock, power pop, country, Americana, and even a hip hop track!
While spinning the tunes, I got to hang out with a couple of the stellar Woody Radio personalities, and trade music stories. And to my great surprise, an old friend, now living in Texas, popped in to let me know that she and her husband were enjoying the show!
That all made my day. I hope you enjoy the podcast. What will really make my day is if you listen to all the other great DJs on Woody Radio. There is an incredible love for music among my colleagues that is unparalleled in the radio biz, and it shows.
