2017 has turned out to be a stellar year for independent music. It’s hard to put together top albums lists, when you have 10 albums that belong in your top 5, and 20 that belong in your top 10.
Today’s show celebrated a little bit of that, but wasn’t really a countdown show. And I did play stuff from all eras. This was my New Year’s Eve Eve show, and we celebrated the end of 2017. This was my longest show on Woody Radio to date, clocking in at just a minute under 4-1/2 hours. I snuck on early and stayed late, so that I could bring you 67 songs, many of which graced my airwaves in 2017.
We had a full crew in the chatroom today, and covered all sorts of topics, both musical and otherwise. The banter was both hilarious and profound. To me, this is what it’s all about: hanging out with friends and listening to good music, while sharing a laugh and a kind word.
2017 may have been a rough year on some fronts, but I won’t completely diss it. It gave us some amazing music, and it gave me the opportunity to start this new radio show. I’m thankful to my friends here at Woody Radio for making a little room for me to join up with them. I’ve always been a fan of this station, and to actually be on it is a thrill and an honor for me, which I don’t take lightly. See you in 2018, with even more music!
