Woody Radio DJ Mike Show #8, 2/6/2018

DjMikeWoodyRadioFebruary is here. In the grand scheme of things, it kind of gets the short end of the stick. It’s only 28 days long, and sometimes, in an effort to throw it a bone, the rest of the months pitch in to give it an extra day. People even forget how to pronounce it–yes, the first “r” is not silent–it is definitely meant to be heard.

So here’s what we do: we need to give February the respect it deserves. We can start by getting the most out of it. We need to get done in 28 days what it takes other months to do in 30 or 31.

I tried to do my part with this most recent show. I squeezed 50(!) songs into about 3 hours and 15 minutes. If that’s not efficient (and fun), I don’t know what is! We got to hear a couple of brand new songs for 2018 by Cootes Paradise and Anton Barbeau, a ton of music from the year just finished, and some odd tracks from classic rock artists such as The Who, John Hiatt, and The Beatles.

This is going to be a great month, and a great year. New music continues to come in. And Woody Radio keeps growing and getting better–more new DJs, more new shows. Our station has quite a wealth of amazing, fun, knowledgeable radio personalities. It’s a musical oasis, and we’d love it if you’d come hang out with us and stay for a while. Enjoy the show!
