Woody Radio DJ Mike Show #12, 4/3/2018

DjMikeWoodyRadio

We welcome in April with our 12th show, and a bit of spring fever. Jeff Shelton sent me the brand new Well Wishers album, “A View From Above”, and it is a good one. I couldn’t resist playing the song “April Is Only A Lie”, to celebrate the new month! We had tons of other great new music. We had intense tracks from Felsen, The Crushing Violets, and Steve Barton. We had musical magnificence from Elk City and The The, who will be touring the US for the first time in years. We had some wackiness from Right Said Fred and Mojo Nixon. And a brand new, Beatlesque track from Lannie Flowers–but not Beatlesque in the way you’d think. It’s more reminiscent of 1967 than of 1963.

The days are getting longer, and my show started just a few minutes after sunset. Pretty soon, my show will be starting while it’s still light out–and that’ll be a trip. As we have for pretty much each week, the show went into overtime. We are still having trouble resolving things by the end of regulation, so we usually play a handful of extra songs after 11:00 p.m. At least nobody’s complained yet.

So what are your plans for after you’re done listening to this podcast? I suggest you tune right back into Woody Radio, where you can hear my great colleagues play for you some of the finest hand picked music available. Woody Radio is your musical oasis in a sea of static. See you next week!
