Well this week’s show was a fun one. Oh wait–there’s goes my journalistic integrity–I say that every time! But it’s true. We had a lot of stuff going on this week. A whole new batch of brand new, May 2018 submissions–from Pugwash, David Myhr, Krista D, Astral Drive, Sunshine Boys, and Roger Joseph Manning Jr.–graced our Woody Radio airwaves. We also did a little feature I’ve done in years past–“Lauries Born in May”, celebrating the same-week birthdays of Laurie Larson and Laurie Biagini. Along those lines, we also celebrated Blake Jones’ birthday–he shares his special day with Laurie Biagini! But wait…there’s more! One of our patented train wreck segues featured Blue Swede, and their ooga-chaka version of Hooked on a Feeling, followed immediately by one of Julian Cope’s more recognizable pop tunes. We also played the Spanish version of Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy”! And as usual, we went overtime. We couldn’t finish up in the three hours alotted us, so we went into “sudden death overtime”, that portion of the show that goes on past 11:00 p.m. Pacific, where your host gets tired and punchy!
But I’m not the only one who has this kind of fun with his Woody Radio show. You should listen to all of our other DJs. From the seasoned vets, to the ones who are just starting up their brand new shows–each one of them is a true music lover, and is in this for the sheer fun of it all. We all have something in common–we hand curate music that we want you to hear. I’m serious–tune in to Woody Radio at any time of the day or night, and you’ll hear a mix of great music that exists nowhere else. Woody Radio is your musical oasis.
