Woody Radio DJ Mike Show #20, 6/12/2018

Show #20. And they said it wouldn’t last. Well, as accurate as “they” usually are with their predictions, “they” apparently had an off night. Hey, we all do from time to time. So basically, I squeaked in on a loophole, and defied all logic and odds, and now have 20 Woody Radio shows under my belt.

So what to do next? How about 20 more? Ok, yes please, I’m all in.

So it’s really not about me, or how many shows I’ve done. It’s more about what I’ve done with those shows. And on this particular show, I was able to play 50 songs. Since we are commercial-free, and really, station ID free, it was pretty much pure music, with me occasionally stepping in just long enough to let you know which great songs you just heard.

And what did we hear? We heard new 2018 music from the likes of Byron Isaacs, Anton Barbeau, and Trip Wire. We heard some older, but still vital indie music from artists such as Death of Samantha, Lindy LaFontaine, and Sex 66. We heard some lovably quirky songs from such well known artists as Nick Lowe, Frank Black, and Robyn Hitchcock. And musical magnificence from artists as diverse as Los Lobos, Elk City, and Sunshine Boys. All in all, stuff from all over the spectrum. Stuff you can chill to, drive to, dance to, and rock out to. Hopefully, you’ll hear something in there you like. If you do, please support the artist by buying it–and buying it directly from them, whenever possible.

I’m not the only one at Woody Radio who does this. Every other DJ is also all about the music. You can randomly turn on Woody Radio any day of the week, and be assured that the DJ you’re listening to wants nothing more than to get you excited about the music they like. That’s what we do. So keep listening to Woody Radio. It’s good for your health, and will make you grow strong in every way.
