WOODY RADIO DJ MIKE SHOW #35, 10/23/2018

DjMikeWoodyRadio

Ok, this weeks show–my 35th show on Woody Radio–was a fun one. The technical glitches from the previous week seemed to be fixed, and any goofups were strictly my own. And yes, I do put a couple of mistakes into each and every show, so that you know a real human being is running things here.

Here’s a clue that this show wasn’t programmed by an algorithm, or even a distant radio consultant. About an hour or so in, we had a 4 song set of music that contained Steve Barton, DEVO, Merle Haggard, and Allyson Seconds. In that order. Listen to it. I defy you to tell me that it doesn’t work. That’s the thing–on paper, it sounds odd. But you don’t listen to a piece of paper, or an algorithm. You listen to real music, and in real life, these 4 artists do fit together. My job is to prove it to you.

Another fun segue was The Smithereens, to a brand new Karla Kane track, to Brick. I’m guessing that Karla’s never been in that kind of a musical configuration before–but again, it really does work.

But don’t take my word for it. Listen to the show. Support these wonderful artists in every way possible–especially the indie ones, who deserve your attention. You’ll get to hear some amazing music, and frankly, you’ll feel better.

Also–give a listen to all the other wonderful shows on Woody Radio. We have lots of DJs who live, breathe, eat, and sleep music, and it shows. You’ll love all the musical variety we have around here.
