WOODY RADIO DJ MIKE SHOW #43, 1/15/2019

It was a dark, stormy night. Ok, how many stories begin that way? But seriously, it actually WAS quite stormy in Sacramento last night, and most nights ARE dark in our town. But all this was going on as I prepared to lay a whole bunch of music on you last night. So I hunkered down in the basement radio studio, and did just that. Ok, it’s not really a basement. There really aren’t too many basements in California. Our house is built on a raised foundation, and my little office, where I do the show from, is in the back of the house, two steps down from the rest of the house. So that’s as basementy as it gets.

Now that I’ve dispelled all the myths (that I started), let’s talk about what really happened. I had tons of great music to play for you–and now that we’re into 2019, some new music started rolling in. We heard debuts from Caper Clowns and Michal Towber–first time I’ve played these artists on my show. On the flipside, we included longtime favorites from the likes of Go National (Kevin and Allyson Seconds’ great Sacramento band), Wire Train, Lannie Flowers, and NRBQ. We did our usual oddball mix of stuff that on paper, shouldn’t be in the same stadium together, but on my show, actually sound quite good in the same set. I’m really excited to have all these great artists represented on my show, and so happy that you might choose to listen to them as well.

So once you’re done listening to my show, I hope you’ll listen to the other shows on Woody Radio as well. We have one of the finest staffs of internet DJs out there. They are all about the music, which is what attracted me to Woody Radio in the first place.

And thanks to YOU, for listening to new music, and supporting independent music and independent radio. Enjoy the show!
