Lannie Flowers and Mike say “Hello from Texas”!
So how do you make July, one of the hottest months of the year, go by a little faster? Simple, just skip past more than half of it. And that’s just what I did. My previous show was on July 9th, and then this show was on the 30th. So basically, we beat the heat by basically not being on the air, right?

Well, not exactly. I didn’t really skip past this hot month. I just didn’t do some of my shows. I spent part of the time in Texas, and part of it in Sacramento–two areas of the country that aren’t exactly cool this time of year. So no time machine magic after all.

However–in Texas, I got to hang out with the gang from Spyderpop Records. We ate bbq, Tex-Mex, and cake together, went to a Texas Rangers baseball game, did a few live webcasts, drove through the drive through at Whataburger at 3:00 a.m., and saw much live music. All on about 5 hours of sleep a night.

That said, it’s good to be back on the air at Woody Radio. This is where I belong. But I brought a little bit of Texas home with me to California, and to Woody Radio. This week’s show features a 7 song Spyderpop and Spyderpop-adjacent set. What does that mean? Well, Spyderpop Records is going out on tour. They’re doing something like 7 shows in 10 days, up and down the Golden State (California, for those still not in the know). They’re bringing Bill Lloyd, The Lannie Flowers Band, Danny Wilkerson, and Chris Church to selected cities. And in those cities, bands like Maple Mars, Blake Jones & The Trike Shop, Bellygunner, and Trip Wire are opening for them. Fantastic times. The Sacramento stop is at the Blue Note Brewing Company in Woodland, CA, Sunday, August 4th. Anyway, you should go to one or more of those shows–you’ll love every bit of it. spyderpop.com

And as for this show, well, 57 tracks, great (and sometimes odd) segues, a “fortune cookie report”, and some pithy commentary from yours truly. Yep, I’m back. I hope you listen and enjoy.
