This show is all about respecting our musical past, while boldly venturing into our musical future. I think the playlist pretty well reflects that. Immediately following Van Halen was brand new music for 2020, from Blaine Campbell. And that’s kind of how the show ran. Lots of hits from last year, maybe a track from the 1990s, and then something not yet released. Mike Collins, a longtime Woody Radio favorite, sent us a track from his new band Rooftop Screamers, this one featuring Keith Slettedahl of popular L.A. band The 88 on vocals.
We also heard a lot of music that either ended up on people’s “Best of” lists for 2019, or will end up on those lists. Including mine. But I also threw in a bunch of award-winning music from 2018, and 2017, and so on. Just because something is gone, doesn’t mean it’s forgotten. I can probably speak for all of us at Woody Radio, when I say we never forget to play good music.
And lastly, this was another rare Saturday morning show for me, and at 4 hours and 15 minutes, is probably the longest show I’ve ever done on Woody Radio. But no filler here–it’s full of only the good stuff. Life’s too short for filler. Give it a listen–I think you may find something here that changes your life!
