Woody Radio DJ Mike Show #101, 4/4/2020

This week, Pepe Espada of Sacramento band Banjo Bones returns to the show. Well, not this show–it’s his first time visiting me on Woody Radio. From afar, during this time of social distancing, of course. He’s visited me several times in the past in my Twirl Radio studios. So Pepe was the victim, er, I mean subject, of my first musician interview live on Woody Radio.

We had a really fun, lively phone chat. He’s got a new album out called “Faceless Man”, and it is really good. In fact, great. It’s a career highlight for the man whose tagline is “The Dark Side of Americana”. This album rocks quite a bit harder than before, and contains the most personal lyrics Pepe’s written to date. This is also my longest Woody Radio show to date. I was all set to shut down after my allotted four hours, but I was having way too much fun, and apparently, so were the folks in the chat room, and it was DEMANDED that I go into overtime. Who am I to stop playing music, so I kept going for another half hour. So this is a big show, but worth your while to listen. Lots and lots of good music here.
